Coloma Wild Rag
Coloma Wild Rag
"Coloma" is gingham gone buck wild! We are smitten with the bold color blending created by oversized warp and weft stripes. The design is asymmetrical, giving you a different palette depending on how you choose to fold it. Woven with Khadi (handspun) cotton, mulberry silk, and multi-ply yarns this weave shows subtle variation in shine and textures. This wild rag is a limited edition in collaboration with the hand-loom weavers at WomenWeave Chairitable Trust.

WomenWeave, a registered Charitable Trust based in Maheshwar, MP, has supported and developed the role of women in handloom weaving since 2002. WomenWeave’s mission is to work towards overcoming the vulnerability of women who weave on handlooms and work towards making handloom a profitable, fulfilling, sustainable, dignified income-earning and life-improving activity.
Handloom weaving is not only an important cultural treasure, it is also the second largest source of livelihood to the rural and semi-urban population of India. India is also the largest producer of handwoven cloth in world. Today, the sector is at a critical moment in time in which it simultaneously faces stresses that threaten to obliterate it and unprecedented opportunities for innovation and revitalization.
Please note due to the hand-made quality, each scarf is unique and may vary slightly from the pictured.
